About

About Us:

All Saints Ukulele is a collection of LDS hymns and Primary Songs reproduced and engraved in high quality for Ukulele.  They sheet music includes tabs, piano music, chords, and vocals. I started playing the ukulele recently and found it easier to follow tab than standard piano notes.  I transferred a few songs, and my playing improved enough to the point my wife could tolerate my plucking, so I continued.  A few days after I put all the songs in Tab, my wife said to me, "You got good really fast, I can now guess what songs you are playing, where before, I couldn't really tell." True Love!

Lilypond and jEdit:

To make the PDF's high quality, I used Lilypond and jEdit software.  They are both free and somewhat easy to use, if you have a background in music and light computer programming.  Unfortunately, they are not very graphical based so it is a lot of writing computer code.  The results are beautiful and easy to read.  I can also transfer the notes to any stringed instrument if I like.  Let's say I decide to learn the guitar, I could easily type one sentence in my code for each song, and presto!  The guitar tab would appear!

Unless you are super nerdy like me, and have computer hacking skills like Napoleon Dynamite, you may just want to request a song and I can do it for you.  If, however, you are super-duper-nerdy-Bill-Gates type, please make as many songs as you like and you can post them here.  Just let me know first so I can add you as editor.

Chords:

For the most part, the chords are included with each song if they could be found.  All Primary Hymns have them, but some of the Sacrament Hymns do not.  For example, I have not found chords for "Come, thou, Font of Every Blessing," but I have found chords for, "High on the Mountain Top."  If a Sacrament Hymn has chords, they were not taken for the standard hymnal, but from the Simplified Accompaniments (published by Deseret Industries) or from, Hymns Made Easy (published by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).

All the music I have copied from the original sources and translated (without Urim and Thummin) to ukulele tablature.
