Primary Program

One of the songs this year was called, "The Family Is of God," which I had heard my kids preparing and practicing, but I never loved it so much.

During the program though, the primary sang wonderfully, and the song sounded great!  I don't know why, but I like it a lot more now.  Funny.

Here it is:

Gotta Be Fair and Balanced....

So I did a women's hymn, and I guess to keep the natural order of things equal in the cosmos, I should do a male choir hymn as well.

Luckily, someone requested Brightly Beams our Father's Mercy.  So now, the universe is equal, and men and women can join in unity and play the ukulele.

ps...technically, i think i may have done another male choir hymn earlier....but who's counting?  and i dont really have the wherewithall to check.

A Couple More Requests. Thanks to all!

Here are a few more songs.

I dont sing the first one too much, as I am a dude, but it is a nice song.
As Sisters in Zion

I sing this one more frequently.

Youth Theme 2014

A couple people requested this song. I was hesitant to do it, cause it is supah hard.

But here it is
****edit 2014 Jul 13 ***** I made a few changes, and added chords.
****i am not sure the chords truly work, for the key it is written in, but the chords come from the pages, and i transposed the music 2 or 2 1/2 steps up (i think, my music skills are limited).  So anyway, the chords are original and the tab and piano music is transposed up a few steps.   Good luck!  if you have a fix, please let me know.

Come Unto Christ

please, double check it for errors.  i saw a few spelling errors already.

Love One Another

Well, Matt Child requested Love One Another, so I did both the hymnal and children's versions.

Last weekend was conference, and I thought it was grand.  I really liked the talk by Holland about not just giving up our beliefs because people claim that resisting sin and immorality is "not accepting" and "non-loving."  I hear that argument a lot to justify sin and immorality...."well, God is a God of love, so you should just accept everything!"  Yes, God is about love, but also, he has to follow justice, mercy, and His own set laws.

I thought the them was very much about having courage despite the changing moral climate of our world.  I am sure it has been so since the dawn of time.  People of the church will always be separate from those of the world.

Anyway, a little soap-boxy, but here they are:

Im trying to be like Jesus

Another great request...actually, I had to go searching in my old files, cause I thought I had done this one, but apparently not!  Here it is!  Also, someone requested a video of me and my kids singing some of these things...I have to be honest here, I am not super musically talented.  I know how to amateurishly play the ukulele and I sing like a dead whale.....so, anyway, I have to apologize, I probably won't be posting any videos!  Sorry!  I don't want to offend anyone.

Thanks for the Request

Anneliese sent in a request for a few songs.  Here they are.  There was an EFY song request, and one from the Youth theme song for the year, but they didnt seem to transfer well, so I am still working on them.

He Sent His Son

Thanks

Ye Elders of Israel

Thanks to Ryan Skalla for recommending this tablature.  The chords are from the Simpified Hymn Book, and the notes were from the big Hymn book but transposed to a key higher.

Hope this helps.

Ye Elders of Israel
